When the MTV VMAs roll out Tuesday night, Nicki Minaj will steer the proceedings as emcee, Taylor Swift will be lauded as the nominations leader and a performance lineup ranging from Cardi B to Måneskin will keep the stage smoking.
This year's show, airing live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, is proceeding as planned despite the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike. Like the Tony Awards earlier this summer, the VMAs will focus on performances and unscripted banter from Minaj – who hosted last year’s show – and presenters.
Here is what you need to know about the 2023 VMAs, including how to watch, who is nominated and which artists are slated to take the stage.
How to watch the 2023 MTV VMAs
The show airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, as well as sister brands BET, BET Her, CMT, CC, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TV Land and VH1.
For the first time this year, MTV has teamed with TelevisaUnivision for a live broadcast on UniMás, followed by an encore on Univision at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT.
For those without cable, the VMAs will stream on Paramount+.
